"Humane Slaughter" Only Exists in Creepy Cartoons
"HUMANE SLAUGHTER"
ONLY EXISTS IN
CREEPY CARTOONS
Cartoons are often used by the meat industry to give consumers the impression that they are buying meat that came from animals who lived a good life, died a peaceful death, and WANTED to become food for us.
But the truth is that there are actually laws that state that if you break into a slaughterhouse with a camera and film what's going on inside, not only will you be charged with breaking into a private building, but you will also be charged with committing a "terrorist act". (Because a lot of people would be "terrorized" if they saw what went on in slaughterhouses, and this could lead to the powerful meat industry losing a lot of customers and a lot of money.)
So the next time you see a package of meat with a cartoon of a smiling animal on it, please see it for what it truly is. ("False advertising" and downright creepy!)
Pictures like these will be in history books someday, and people in the future will wonder how we weren't creeped out by the cannibalistic cartoons of animals that were actually used to sell meat.
If the only evidence that we require to believe that something is real is a cartoon drawing, then creepy cartoons can make us believe all sorts of creepy things. (Like that fish don't feel pain when they are alive, but do feel pleasure when they are killed.)
* If you're wondering why I included dairy products like milk, butter, yogurt, and ice cream in this presentation about "slaughter", dairy cows are sold to the meat industry and slaughtered for meat once they stop producing as much milk as the dairy industry wants from them.
* If you're wondering why I included eggs in a presentation about "slaughter", egg-laying chickens are sold to the meat industry and slaughtered for meat once they stop producing as many eggs as the egg industry wants from them. And since male chicks can't lay eggs and aren't profitable to the egg industry, they are killed as soon as they hatch.
