We Are Living In The Age Of Information
WE ARE LIVING IN THE AGE OF INFORMATION

The truth about how unhealthy, unsustainable, and unkind it is to eat meat, dairy, and eggs is becoming far more well known thanks to the internet.

There are 3 main reasons that people decide to be vegan and they are...

1. "Health"
2. "The Environment"
3. "Cruelty To Animals"

If you are thinking about going vegan but you need some inspiration the following documentaries (which are all free to watch on YouTube) will help to show why going vegan is good for your health, good for the environment, and good for the animals...

GOING VEGAN FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS

If you want to be a vegan I would strongly encourage you to be a vegan for all 3 reasons (health, environment, and animals) because if you are a vegan for only one of these reasons you will only have 1/3 of the motivation and therefore it might be challenging to stay vegan and to get other people to want to be vegan. For example...

1. "Health"

Even cigarettes and alcohol have some health benefits. People who smoke are statistically less likely to be overweight, and alcohol does contain some nutrients. (Including "protein" so it must be good for you right?)

However, the negative effects of smoking and drinking far outweigh the positives, and in the health movement there are a lot of people who take advantage of the fact that people want to hear good things about their bad habits.

2. "The Environment"

Animal agriculture is responsible for so much of the environmental destruction that is taking place in the world that to avoid losing business many companies in the industry are now trying to promote and market their products as being "environmentally friendly". So if you care about the environment but not about animals or even your own health you may pick up a pack of beef that says "Sustainably Sourced" or "Fair Trade" and not only not feel bad about buying it but actually feel good about it!

3. "Cruelty To Animals"

If you are only vegan for "animal rights" only you might give the people around you who aren't vegan the impression that vegans only care about animals, and you might end up isolating yourself and feeling alone.

Please do not forget that humans are animals too!

If you care about animals but not about your own health and your diet is mostly processed junk foods like "Pepsi" and "Doritos" (which technically don't have meat, dairy, or eggs in them and could therefore be considered "vegan") you might end up giving people the impression that vegans are unhealthy.

If it is your desire to help end animal cruelty you should know that going vegan is the second most powerful thing that you can do, and that the most powerful thing of all that you can do to help end animal cruelty is to inspire a lot more people to go vegan, so please lead by example.

"OTHER REASONS"

If you go vegan for any reason other than the big 3 not only will it be a challenge to stay vegan but it will be a challenge to even start!

For example, if the only reason that you want to go vegan is because you have a 10 year High School reunion coming up in a few months and you want to lose 25 pounds for it you will view the vegan diet as nothing more than a means to an end, and you will probably be telling yourself the whole time that as soon as the reunion is over you are going to go out and binge on all of the foods that you have been "depriving" yourself of while on a "strict" vegan diet.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look better, but if that is your only reason for being vegan you will have to rely heavily on willpower and discipline (which most people are deficient in) to avoid all of the unhealthy temptation that are bombarding us on a daily basis.

So please go vegan for your health, for the environment, and for the animals, because if you genuinely care about all 3 of these issues it will not be a difficult at all to be a vegan, and you will also inspire a lot of other people to want to be vegan because you will be the change we all deep down want to see in the world!
